About Us

Weill Cornell Medicine’s endocrine surgeons and specialized staff aim to provide comprehensive care for a full range of diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid gland, adrenal gland, as well as endocrine tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas – from the more common and benign disorders to relatively rare cancers.

Our experts provide personalized care for each patient from the first visit, through surgery and follow-up care after surgery. With our team of dedicated surgeons, professional support staff, and physicians in nuclear medicine and pathology, we can deliver medical options that are tailored to each patient's needs.

Our program offers cutting-edge treatments that reduce recovery time and offer patients options for surgical approach.

Using minimally invasive techniques in parathyroid and thyroid surgery, our team aims to reduce the appearance of neck scars. Adrenal and pancreatic surgery is routinely approached laparoscopically using a thin, lighted tube inserted through small incisions, which allows most patients to shorten their recovery time and more quickly return to normal daily activity.

In addition to providing outstanding individualized clinical care, we are committed to advancing the field of Endocrine and Minimally Invasive Surgery through research and education with the goal of finding better treatments that not only cure patients, but also improve their quality of life.

Talking about Rasa Zarnegar, M.D.

"It was my first visit with Dr Zarnegar , and he has excellent communication skills in terms of listening to me and providing his diagnosis based on what I had to say and an examination. I felt very comfortable with his diagnosis and recommendation and to have him as my surgeon"

"I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Marti and the wonderful care she provided. After speaking to a number of doctors from other institutions who I felt were not listening to me and were not considering my concerns and opinions, Dr. Marti was the only doctor who took the position of explaining to me in a way that I related to, and she really heard me and helped me tailor next steps to fit me."

"I first met Dr. Fahey several years ago when he performed a hemithyroidectomy (absolutely no scar), and I recently visited again when a nodule in my remaining thyroid lobe developed “suspicious” features. I was beyond anxious, but Dr. Fahey, with his legendary bedside manner, was able to keep me calm while he did an extremely thorough evaluation. I could not have been in better hands! Update - I recently visited Dr. Fahey for a six month follow-up. I was seen promptly, and his entire staff was terrific. Dr. Fahey patiently took the time to discuss my results and answer my questions, and his positive assessment of my current status was extremely reassuring. When I asked for recommendations for my long term follow- up, Dr. Fahey provided several names and even offered to assist if I had trouble scheduling an appointment. Dr. Fahey is simply the best."
